The second one was that Matt keeps making the same mistakes. That was my first pet peeve with the book.
When the first part of the book seemed to be about Matt’s inner battle about wooing a taken lass, needless to say, the first part wasn’t my favourite.
Any guy who thinks it’s okay ruining not just a marriage but the family of two children he supposedly loves… That is a hard, Simon Cowell no from me. Especially, since (apparently) lusting after his long-term friend’s wife and dreaming of doing the unmentionable with her is not a problem.Įven if she wasn’t James’ (his good-although-it’s-complicated friend’s) wife, the main point is she is someone’s wife.! I’m sorry but in my books, you don’t try to break up a marriage. He promised Brooklyn he would never love again, and he is keeping to his word. Matthew “Will-he-ever-see-an-ending-to-his-story” Caldwell is still a man in pain, hiding his bruised heart behind one-night stands and a fake million-dollar smile. Matchmaker is set 16 years in the future from Brooklyn’s untimely and rather abrupt passing. If one thing can be said about Smoak’s books, they demand to be discussed. I wasn’t a fan of Betrayal (Empire High #3) yet I had a sneaky feeling you’d find me back for book 4, simply because – closure, people! I need some closure but every time I feel the soothing edges of the final chapter in my reach… Poof. This series just keeps on going like Engine Everlasting on Snowpiercer. This is that, except high school actually ended. It’s like when you’re a teenager in high school and it feels like high school will never end.
